Our approach

We see therapy as a collaborative, thought-provoking, and perspective-shifting process. Our goal is to help you identify and understand the feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and patterns that may be keeping you from the life you envision.

As compassionate yet direct therapists, we approach our work together with a focus on meeting your unique therapeutic goals. Using dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) along with other evidence-based methods, we support you in facing and working through your obstacles.

Our extensive training and diverse experience enable us to work effectively with a wide range of clients, including adults, children, teens, couples, and families. We specialize in addressing concerns related to anxiety disorders, depression, family dynamics, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship conflicts, personal growth, PTSD, and the journey of therapists seeking therapy.

Our approach is inclusive and affirming of LGBTQ+ identities, and we are committed to creating a space where all individuals feel supported and understood.

 FAQ

  • Text or call us at (630) 720-0344. We will make every effort to get back to you within 24 hours.

  • Yes! We have a hybrid practice and see clients both on a secure video platform as well as in-person in our office.

  • This is a very important question. You are dedicating time and resources and want to be sure you are picking the right person.

We always have an introductory call that answers most questions, but some important things to consider are : logistical factors (office location, availability) as well as personal factors (my training and expertise, personality, and 'the feel' you get). An initial conversation should be able answer some of these questions - I suggest that you think about the questions that will inform your decision. Sometimes you have to be "in a room" (virtually or otherwise) with someone before you truly have a feel for the person.

  • The call is for you to tell us about yourself and how we can help. We will discuss how we work and what methods we would use to get your goals met. This will give you a sense of our style and what it’s like to talk with us! The call also gives us information on how we can best serve your needs.

Our #1 priority is for you to be happy and live your best life, so if we feel it’s not the best fit, we will give you a referral to another therapist we believe is more suited to your therapy goals and desires!

  • In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and psychotherapist. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client. However, there are exceptions that are required to report by law to protect people from harm which we can discuss in further detail.

  • Yes! Room 2 Talk is a preferred provider for Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Choice PPO, Cigna, and United Healthcare.

We are happy to help you understand your in-network and out-of-network benefits for a particular plan!
